Eagles Trade Ideas: 5 Potential Proposals for Philadelphia

The initial waves of free agency have receded as teams around the NFL assembled in Arizona for the owners meetings this week. While many teams have shifted their attention towards the 2026 NFL Draft, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is always looking to make a deal. The Eagles have been involved in several trade rumors and I don’t expect that to stop in the coming months.

Roseman has already made two trades in the first month of the new league year, which is the same amount of deals that he made around this time in both 2025 and 2024. While Roseman loves to wheel and deal during the NFL Draft, he isn’t afraid to get busy in the weeks leading up the event as well. Here are five potential trade proposals for Philadelphia.

Eagles Land Pro Bowl Edge Rusher

Eagles receive: EDGE Jonathan Greenard

Vikings receive: 2026 third-round pick (98th overall)

The Eagles have been linked to Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Greenard in trade talks for a few weeks. The 28-year-old is heading into the third year of a four-year, $76 million deal and is seeking another raise. Yet the Vikings seem unwilling to reward Greenard after he recorded just three sacks last season.

Despite Greenard’s recent dip in production, he recorded 24.5 total sacks from 2023 to 2024. Roseman has assembled a promising edge group that is headlined by Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr., yet Greenard would add a proven veteran to lead Philadelphia’s pass rush. Given that the Eagles would have to sign Greenard to a contract extension, Roseman likely won’t offer more than Philadelphia’s third-round compensatory pick.

Eagles Make Up for Striking Out in 2025

Eagles receive: S Justin Reid

Saints receive: 2026 fourth-round pick (114th overall)

The Eagles let Reed Blankenship walk in free agency and are currently projected to start Marcus Epps alongside second-year safety Andrew Mukuba. Roseman stated that the Eagles aren’t done adding at the position when asked about the state of the safety room at the owners meetings. Therefore, Philadelphia could revisit a deal that they were unable to get done one year ago in free agency.

The Eagles were in discussions with veteran safety Justin Reid, who opted to sign a three-year, $31.5 million deal with the New Orleans Saints. Fast forward to 2026 and the Saints could be willing to part with Reid after Jonas Sanker excelled as a rookie and Julian Blackmon signed a contract extension. Reid would fill a massive void in Philadelphia’s safety room and bring a wealth of experience with 130 career starts in the NFL.

Eagles Give Sean Mannion a Familiar Weapon

Eagles receive: WR Dontayvion Wicks and a 2026 seventh-round pick (255th overall)

Packers receive: CB Kelee Ringo and a 2026 fifth-round pick (153rd overall)

The Eagles are embracing change on offense this offseason and it started with overhauling the coaching staff. Philadelphia’s offense is now led by first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who has only brought in one player that he has experience working with, veteran tight end Johnny Mundt. Roseman could change that with another trade.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has shown flashes at times but has also been buried on the team’s depth chart. Wicks was involved in trade talks in recent years and a change of scenery could make sense, especially if the Eagles eventually move on from A.J. Brown. Wicks would potentially step-in as WR3 for the Eagles and this trade would also allow Kelee Ringo to get a fresh start elsewhere on the final year of his rookie deal.

Eagles Reunite Vic Fangio With Former Starter

Eagles receive: S DeShon Elliott

Steelers receive: 2026 fifth-round pick (178th overall)

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio spent just one season with the Miami Dolphins, yet it was clear that he valued the skillsets of certain players during his time in South Beach. After trading for Jaelan Phillips last season, Roseman could look to reunite Fangio with another player that he likely enjoyed coaching in Miami.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott led the Dolphins with 987 defensive snaps in 2023. Elliott thrived in Fangio’s scheme but landed with the Steelers in 2024. Now Pittsburgh has moved Jalen Ramsey to safety and signed Jaquon Brisker. After being limited to just five games last season due to a knee injury, Elliott could be available and would give Fangio a familiar face to work with at safety.

Eagles Make Rare Trade With Division Rival

Eagles receive: EDGE Kayvon Thibodeux

Giants receive: 2026 third-round pick (98th overall)

If the Eagles are unable to swing a trade for Greenard, Philadelphia could pivot to calling a division rival. While Roseman rarely trades with the New York Giants, fifth-year edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeux is a player that the Eagles have had their eyes on for a while. Philadelphia hosted Thibodeux on a 30 visit ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft, similar to Jordan Davis, Kenyon Green and Arnold Ebiketie.

Given that the Giants are paying a ton of money to Brian Burns and selected Abdul Carter with the third-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Thibodeux could be available. The 25-year-old has recorded 23.5 sacks in 53 career starts and Roseman could bet on his upside this offseason. While the Giants likely don’t want to see another former player succeed in Philadelphia, this would be a deal that makes sense for both sides.
