Eagles-Cowboys Week 1 Injury Report: Who Is Playing in Philadelphia?
The Philadelphia Eagles will begin their title defense against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. The Eagles will reveal their banner for winning Super Bowl LIX ahead of their matchup with the Cowboys on Thursday, September 4th at 8:20 PM.
Dallas shocked the NFL world by trading All-Pro EDGE Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers last week. Yet that’s not the only notable loss that the Cowboys might have to deal with, as Dallas could be without several starters due to injury in Week 1.
The Eagles are also dealing with a few lingering injuries heading into their home opener against the Cowboys. While Philadelphia is in relatively good shape overall, it’ll be worth watching their injury report leading up to Thursday night’s matchup.
Here is the updated injury report for both the Eagles and the Cowboys ahead of their primetime matchup in Week 1.
Eagles Injury Report
Monday, September 1st
After miraculously recovering from knee surgery, Landon Dickerson missed Monday’s practice due to a back injury. His status is certainly worth watching with just a few days left before the regular season opener.
Tanner McKee was in attendance at practice but did not participate as he continues to recover from a right thumb injury. It’ll be interesting to see what the Eagles do at backup QB if McKee is out in Week 1.
After missing two weeks during training camp, Drew Mukuba appears to be heading in the right direction ahead of Week 1. Mukuba was a limited participant in Monday’s practice as he continues to manage a hamstring injury.
Joshua Uche was limited due to a groin injury, which he has dealt with since the end of training camp.
Jalen Carter was a full participant during Monday’s practice. Carter has been dealing with a shoulder injury throughout training camp but it doesn’t seem like anything that will severely limit him.
Tuesday, September 2nd
Landon Dickerson returned to practice in full after missing Monday’s practice with a mysterious back injury. Luckily for the Eagles, Dickerson seems on track to play against the Cowboys.
Tanner McKee did not practice on Tuesday as he continues to deal with the right thumb injury that he suffered during training camp. It’s looking like Sam Howell will be QB2 in Week 1.

Landon Dickerson, Drew Mukuba, Joshua Uche and Jalen Carter were all estimated as full participants and will be good to go.
Cowboys Injury Report
Monday, September 1st
Perrion Winfrey made a surprise push to make Dallas’ final roster. Yet it looks like he might not be able to play in Week 1, although he was only expected to be a depth option along the IDL anyway.
Trevon Diggs is likely the best player on the Cowboys’ defense following the Micah Parsons trade. While Diggs has been secretive about his knee injury, he seems in line to play in Week 1 after being a full participant on Monday.
Tyler Guyton suffered a bone fracture in his knee in late July, yet he was able to avoid undergoing surgery. Now Guyton has made an impressive recovery was a full participant during Monday’s practice.
Brevyn Spann-Ford was a full participant on Monday and should serve as Dallas’ third TE behind Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker in Week 1.
Tuesday, September 2nd
No changes for the Cowboys following Tuesday’s practice. Perrion Winfrey was still the only player that did not participate.
Trevon Diggs, Tyler Guyton and Brevyn Spann-Ford were all full participants and seem like they’ll be playing in Week 1.
