Betting the Birds: 10 Picks for 2026
The NFL’s regular season will kickoff on Wednesday as many sports bettors are submitting their future picks before the start of Week 1. The Philadelphia Eagles are viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, yet some of the over/under lines for the team’s top playmakers are confusing. In this exercise, I’m using the latest over/under lines from FanDuel Sportsbook. Here are 10 over/under picks that I’d lean towards for the Eagles in 2026.
Jalen Hurts Passing Yards: O/U 3,150.5
My Pick: Over 3,150.5 passing yards
In five seasons as a full-time starting quarterback in Philadelphia, Jalen Hurts has averaged 3,366 passing yards per season. He also surpassed this line last season, despite an underwhelming showing from the offense, as a whole. Maybe I’m crazy but I believe that Hurts is going to eventually thrive in Sean Mannion’s new-look offense, which could lead to him posting a single-season career-high in passing yards. This line is honestly disrespectfully low and the only way that Hurts doesn’t hit the over is if he misses multiple games due to injury.
Jalen Hurts Passing Touchdowns: O/U 21.5
My Pick: Over 21.5 passing touchdowns
The sportsbook knew exactly what they were doing with this line as Hurts has averaged 20.8 passing touchdowns per season in his five seasons as a full-time starting quarterback in Philadelphia. Yet as I mentioned before, Hurts exceeded this line with 25 passing touchdowns during a down season last year. While some may point to the easy red zone touchdown passes to Dallas Goedert in 2025 as a way to inflate Hurts’ total, I expect to see similar plays this upcoming season. Hurts has exceeded this line in three of his five seasons as a starter and I expect him to do so again in 2026.
Saquon Barkley Rushing Yards: O/U 1,050.5
My Pick: Over 1,050.5 rushing yards
The sportsbook is clearly betting on Saquon Barkley to hit a wall at 29-years old with this surprisingly low over/under line. Despite Philadelphia’s offensive line struggling all of last season, Barkley still had 1,140 rushing yards in 2025. Obviously, the biggest question will be Barkley’s health, yet that hasn’t been an issue since he arrived in Philadelphia. I expect Barkley to flourish in Mannion’s offense and look more like the running back that we saw two years ago—well maybe not at that record-breaking level.
Jalen Hurts Rushing Yards: O/U 425.5
My Pick: Over 425.5 rushing yards
Oh look! Another shockingly low line for Hurts after a down performance last season. In his first four seasons as a starting quarterback in Philadelphia, Hurts blew this line out of the water by recording 600 or more rushing yards each year. Yet in 2025, Hurts just missed the mark by recording 421 rushing yards on a career-low 105 rushing attempts. Many have reported that Hurts looks faster this year and I expect him to use his legs a bit more this upcoming season. While Mannion may not dial up as many “tush pushes,” I could see him calling more designed runs for Hurts in 2026.
Devonta Smith Receiving Yards: O/U 1,050.5
My Pick: Over 1,050.5 receiving yards
For the first time since 2021, DeVonta Smith will be called upon as WR1 this upcoming season in Philadelphia. Despite surpassing this line twice as a WR2 with the Eagles, the rest of the world continues to doubt Smith’s abilities. While I won’t go as far as saying that Smith will put up Jaxon Smith-Njigba-esque production, I believe that the 27-year-old will have a career-best season in 2026. After sitting behind A.J. Brown for the last four seasons, Smith will have his chance to shine this upcoming season.
DeVonta Smith Receptions: O/U 78.5
My Pick: Over 78.5 receptions
Honestly, this might be the most puzzling over/under line in this entire exercise. Smith has surpassed this line in two seasons as a WR2 and just barely missed surpassing it last season with 77 receptions. He is clearly Philadelphia’s top target in the passing game and should receiver a career-high in targets in 2026. I believe that Smith will see at least 120 targets this upcoming season and the only time that’s happened in his NFL career, he recorded 95 receptions. Smith should easily surpass this line and it wouldn’t surprise me if he did so in the team’s first 14 games.
Dallas Goedert Receiving Yards: O/U 575.5
My Pick: Under 575.5 receiving yards
The Eagles brought Dallas Goedert back for one more season and he’s expected to play a big role in Philadelphia’s new-look offense. Goedert has surpassed this line in four of the last five seasons and it seems like he should do so again in 2026. Yet after he stayed surprisingly healthy last season, I believe that Goedert could miss some time due to injury this time around. It also feels like there are more mouths to feed in Philadelphia following a busy offseason, which could lead to a slight decline in targets for Goedert. He just barely surpassed this line in two of the last three seasons and I could see Goedert falling just below this line in 2026.
Makai Lemon Receiving Yards: O/U 575.5
My Pick: Over 575.5 receiving yards
From 2023 to 2025, there were 15 wide receivers selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. In their rookie season, those players averaged 738.6 receiving yards per year. Of those 15 players, only five failed to surpass Makai Lemon’s over/under line of 575.5 receiving yards. Three of those five players missed at least three games during their rookie season. Lemon’s line essentially comes down to if you believe that he’s going to stay healthy or not. I know that Lemon battled a hamstring injury this summer, yet he was remarkably healthy in college. I expect him to stay on the field and be involved enough in Mannion’s offense to surpass this line.
Jonathan Greenard Sacks: O/U 7.75
My Pick: Under 7.75 sacks
The Eagles traded for Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Greenard to lead their pass rush in 2026. Yet after battling a shoulder injury last season, the 29-year-old missed all of training camp due to a pec injury. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio places a high value on practice and Greenard has already fallen behind in that category. It’s also worth noting that only one defender has surpassed this line during Fangio’s two seasons as defensive coordinator, which was Josh Sweat with eight sacks in 2024. While Greenard could play early in the regular season, I have my doubts that he’ll be able to surpass this sack total in 2026.
Eagles Win Total: O/U 10.5
My Pick: Over 10.5 wins
The Eagles have won 11 or more games in each of the last four seasons. While I understand the line after last season’s disappointing end, it’s hard to doubt the regular season success that Philadelphia has continued to have during Nick Sirianni’s tenure as the team’s head coach. Despite having a “tougher” regular season schedule, it feels like the Eagles are positioned well to surpass this over/under line of just 10.5 wins. As a Super Bowl contender, the Eagles should view this line as a sign of disrespect and I expect them to win at least 11 games in 2026.
