Way-Too-Early Eagles 2027 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

The Philadelphia Eagles are currently 2-6 and in last place in the NFC East. After losing six consecutive games, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman will likely begin to offload players at the trade deadline while shifting his focus towards the future. Philadelphia must use the remainder of the regular season to evaluate and develop the young talent on the team’s roster.

Following Sunday night’s loss to the Washington Commanders, the Eagles are currently projected to have the fifth overall pick in the first round of the 2027 NFL Draft. While Roseman’s selections in each of the last two NFL Drafts have been questionable, at best, he’ll likely be selecting from a premium spot in this year’s event. The Eagles must capitalize on this opportunity to select in the top 10 picks of the first round like they’ve done over the last decade.

Here’s the third edition of my Way-Too-Early Eagles 2027 Mock Draft.

Round 1, Pick 5: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas

Philadelphia’s pass rush has been an absolute joke this season, as the Eagles have recorded just 10 sacks in eight games. Therefore, Roseman should prioritize adding an elite pass rusher early in the 2027 NFL Draft and it doesn’t get much better than Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons. While many expect Simmons to be selected earlier than this, an early run on quarterbacks could cause the 20-year-old game wrecker to fall into Philadelphia’s lap.

Round 2, Pick 36: Lance Heard, OL, Kentucky

Following the retirement of eventual Hall of Fame OT Lane Johnson, Eagles rookie Markel Bell has had a tough time in 2026. While Bell could eventually develop into a starter, Philadelphia should continue to invest in the trenches early in the 2027 NFL Draft. Kentucky paid big money to have former LSU and Tennessee OT Lance Heard transfer but he’s been well worth the price. At 6’6” and 325 lbs., Heard checks all of the boxes at the position and hasn’t allowed a single sack or quarterback hit in 2026.

Round 3, Pick 97: Bray Hubbard, S, Alabama

Eagles second-year safety Andrew Mukuba hasn’t taken the step forward that many anticipated in 2026. Outside of Mukuba, Philadelphia has struggled to find a consistent starter alongside him, as veterans Marcus Epps, Michael Carter II and Kenny Moore II have all split time there. The Eagles need to find a long-term starter at the position at Alabama safety Brady Hubbard could fill that void. At 6’2” and 217 lbs., Hubbard has great size for the position and a complete skillset to provide stability in Philadelphia.

Round 4, Pick 106: Brandon Baker, OL, Texas

Despite adding Heard earlier, Philadelphia should consider double-dipping along the offensive line. Texas guard Brandon Baker is a former top offensive tackle recruit that made the move inside to guard for the Longhorns in 2026. While Baker struggled with penalties at right tackle last season, he has looked far more comfortable at right guard this season. By drafting Heard and Baker, Roseman would add two legitimate building blocks along the offensive line.

Round 5, Pick 140: DJ Vonnahme, TE, Iowa

While the Eagles selected tight end Eli Stowers in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, Philadelphia must continue to invest in the position in 2027. The Eagles aren’t expected to bring back Dallas Goedert and it’s time to usher in a new era at tight end. Over the last decade, Iowa has developed several tight ends that have grown into elite players at the next level. Iowa tight end DJ Vonnahme may not possess a complete skillset quite yet, but he would form a promising duo alongside Stowers in Philadelphia.

Round 5, Pick 150: Jalen Mayo, CB, Houston

After starting Adoree’ Jackson in 2025 and Riq Woolen in 2026, Philadelphia needs to add a long-term starter at outside cornerback opposite of Quinyon Mitchell. Houston cornerback Jalen Mayo started his collegiate career at Virginia Union University and has grown into one if the more intriguing players in the 2027 NFL Draft. Following a stop at Stephen F. Austin, Mayo has been a lockdown cornerback for the Cougars this season.

Round 5, Pick 156: Antwan Raymond, RB, Rutgers

While the Eagles are expected to keep star running back Saquon Barkley in Philadelphia, the team’s backfield has been decimated by injuries in 2026. With current backup running back Tank Bigsby slated to become a free agent, the Eagles should invest in a long-term solution at the position. Rutgers running back Antwan Raymond proved that he could be a workhorse in 2025 and is averaging a career-high 5.5 yards per carry for the Scarlet Knights this season.

Round 7, Pick 248: Hero Kanu, IDL, Texas

The Eagles have invested heavily in Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis along the interior of the defensive line. While Philadelphia isn’t expected to re-sign Moro Ojomo in free agency, maybe the Eagles can invest a seventh-round pick in another former Longhorns defensive tackle. While Germany native Hero Kanu isn’t filling up the stat sheet, he is full of potential, similar to how Ojomo once was. At 6’5” and 309 lbs., Kanu would immediately contribute as a run defender with upside to build on as a pass rusher.
