Eagles Seeking Help at WR: 10 Free Agents To Watch For

The Philadelphia Eagles currently have one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on their roster. Yet given Brown’s uncertain future and the expected departure of Jahan Dotson in free agency, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has some work to do at the position this offseason.

Outside of Philadelphia’s dynamic duo, there isn’t much proven talent remaining on the team’s roster at wide receiver. Darius Cooper and Johnny Wilson have shown flashes at times yet they’re both unproven in the NFL. Quez Watkins, Danny Gray and Britain Covey are limited and don’t have a ton of upside at this point in their respective careers.

Roseman isn’t exactly being shy about his intentions at the position either. Philadelphia’s first reported 30 visit ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft is with Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., who is projected to be a first-round pick in April. If the Eagles are going to eventually trade Brown, they could address the position early in next month’s event.

Yet that’s not all. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Philadelphia pursued veteran wide receiver Darnell Mooney in free agency before he signed with the New York Giants. Therefore, it’s clear that Roseman is looking for help at the position. Here are 10 free agent wide receivers that the Eagles could consider signing in 2026.

Jauan Jennings

After hiring Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator, the Eagles will likely be incorporating ideas from the Shanahan coaching tree. Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings excelled in Kyle Shanahan’s scheme and would provide WR2 upside in Philadelphia, if the Eagles were to eventually trade Brown.

At 6’3”, 212 lbs., Jennings would bring much-needed size to Philadelphia’s wide receiver room, along with the willingness to block. Over the last two seasons, Jennings hauled in 132 receptions for 1,618 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also made two big plays in San Francisco’s playoff win against the Eagles, where he had a 45-yard reception and threw a 29-yard touchdown.

Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel turned 30-years old in January and it’s clear that his best days are behind him. Yet similar to Jennings, Samuel also excelled in Shanahan’s scheme during his time with the 49ers. While Samuel didn’t live up to the hype with the Washington Commanders last season, he still hauled in 72 receptions for 727 yards and five touchdowns.

If the Eagles want to focus on adding tough wide receivers that can make plays after the catch, Samuel certainly fits that mold. He would also provide a versatile skillset that Philadelphia currently lacks given his ability to run the ball with 212 career carries for 1,218 yards (5.6 yards per attempt) and 21 touchdown. If the price is right, Samuel could fit with the Eagles.

Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen will turn 34-years old in April, yet he appears to be an ageless wonder. Allen returned to the Los Angeles Chargers last season and flourished after reuniting with his former team. Allen had 81 receptions for 777 yards and four touchdowns, as he played a key role in Los Angeles’ passing attack.

While Allen may eventually re-signed with the Chargers, he would also make sense as a veteran addition for the Eagles. Despite his age, Allen continued to make some impressive plays for the Chargers and would provide a relatively high floor at wide receiver next to Smith (and Brown?) in Philadelphia.

Marquise Brown

When Marquise “Hollywood” Brown joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, many thought he was the missing piece that the former Super Bowl champions needed. Yet he suffered a serious injury during the preseason and returned late in December. Brown quietly had a bounce back performance in his second season with the Chiefs.

Brown appeared in 16 games last season, as he hauled in 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns. While he may not be the same player that he once was, “Hollywood” would compliment Philadelphia’s wide receiver duo well and could serve as the Eagles WR2 if Brown is eventually traded this offseason.

Christian Kirk

In 2022, Christian Kirk signed a $72 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars that surprised many. While he lived up to his contract in his first season, Kirk eventually flamed out in Jacksonville. He spent last season with the Houston Texans and didn’t have much of an impact during the regular season, as he had 28 receptions for 239 yards and one touchdown.

Yet Kirk showed that he still has some juice in the postseason, as he eight receptions for 144 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round. Kirk also has two notable connections with the Eagles coaching staff, as Aaron Moorehead was his position coach at Texas A&M and Jerrod Johnson was on Houston’s coaching staff last season.

Brandin Cooks

Brandin Cooks will turn 33-years old in September and his best football is clearly behind him. Yet the Eagles learned first-hand that he still has some juice in the tank last season. In Week 17, Cooks hauled in four receptions for 101 yards against Philadelphia’s stout secondary.

Now Cooks is on the open market and could reunite with a familiar face in the City of Brotherly Love. Cooks was actually Mannion’s go-to wide receiver when they played together at Oregon State. They were teammates for three seasons and it would be cool to see Cooks fill a role at wide receiver in Mannion’s first opportunity to be an offensive coordinator in the NFL.

Greg Dortch

Greg Dortch has carved out a solid career in the NFL after going undrafted in 2019. Dortch initially signed with the New York Jets, who were led by Joe Douglas at that time. Dortch bounced around the NFL to a few years, which included a short stint on the McVay-led Rams in 2019. He eventually latched on with the Arizona Cardinals and made the most of his opportunity.

Dortch recorded 145 receptions for 1,310 yards and 10 touchdowns across five seasons with the Cardinals. He also provided added value as both a kick returner and punt returner. While Dortch isn’t a household name, he’ll turn 28-years old in May and could help in a variety of ways in Philadelphia.

Sterling Shepard

The Eagles are familiar with Sterling Shepard, as he spent eight seasons with the Giants. After it seemed as though Shepard’s career was nearing its end due to injuries, he was able to revitalize his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Eagles new pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard worked with Shepard for two seasons in Tampa Bay.

While Shepard wasn’t the top target for the Buccaneers, he was able to make an impact as a depth option. He had 71 receptions for 705 yards and two touchdowns over the last two seasons. The 33-year-old doesn’t have much upside, yet his familiarity with Grizzard could make for an easy transition in Philadelphia.

Noah Brown

Similar to Shepard, the Eagles are familiar with Noah Brown due to his time with both the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders. Brown was also with the Houston Texans in 2023, as he enjoyed a career-year with 33 receptions for 567 yards and two touchdowns. Jerrod Johnson was on Houston’s coaching staff at that time and has a connection with Brown.

While Brown’s final season with the Commanders was plagued by injuries, he makes sense as a potential dart throw for the Eagles. The 6’2”, 225 lbs. New Jersey native could look to return closer to home and reunite with a coach that saw him flourish a few years ago with the Texans.

Josh Reynolds

Josh Reynolds was teammates with Kirk at Texas A&M, as he was also coached by Aaron Moorehead. Reynolds was also teammates with Sean Mannion for two seasons with the Rams. Reynolds has dealt with injuries in each of the last two seasons, that has limited him to appearing in just 14 games.

Yet the Eagles could look to bet on him staying healthy with their medical staff and looking like the player that flourished with the Detroit Lions in 2023. While Reynolds turned 31-years old in February, Philadelphia could view him as a worthwhile reclamation project that is familiar with two members of their offensive coaching staff.
