Eagles-Rams Week 3 Injury Report: Who Is Playing in Philadelphia?
The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams for a key NFC matchup in Week 3. It will be the third meeting between two of the top teams in the NFC over the last 11 months.
The Eagles and Rams developed quite a heated rivalry last season, as Philadelphia won both matchups. Now the Rams are traveling across the country to get revenge against the defending Super Bowl champions.
Following a 2-0 start to the regular season, both the Eagles and Rams could each be without a key starter in Week 3. The Rams placed starting CB Ahkello Witherspoon on injured reserve due to a broken clavicle. While Eagles starting TE missed last week’s game due to a knee injury.
Here is the updated injury report for both the Eagles and the Rams ahead of their matchup in Week 3.
Eagles Injury Report
Wednesday, September 17th
Will Shipley was the only Eagles player that wasn’t in attendance at Philadelphia’s practice on Wednesday. Shipley is dealing with an oblique injury that he suffered against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. If Shipley is unable to play, A.J. Dillon and Tank Bigsby will be the next two players up behind Saquon Barkley at RB.
Jalen Carter was seen grabbing his wrist against the Chiefs, yet he was a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice due to a shoulder injury. While Carter should be good to go in Week 3, we’ll keep an eye on him moving forward.
Dallas Goedert returned to practice after suffering a knee injury against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Goedert was unable to play last week but did travel with the team to Kansas City. If he’s able to return against the Rams, that’s a massive upgrade over whatever Grant Calcaterra was doing out there in Week 2.
Tanner McKee was healthy enough to suit up in Week 2, yet he served as Philadelphia’s emergency QB3. McKee was spotted throwing second in drills behind Jalen Hurts during Wednesday’s practice and could return to QB2 duty against the Rams.
Rams Injury Report
Wednesday, September 17th
Steve Avila missed Week 2 after suffering an ankle injury against the Houston Texans in Week 1. Avila was replaced at left guard by Justin Dedich, who allowed two pressures against the Tennessee Titans last week. If Avila is out against the Eagles, it could be a long day for Dedich in Philadelphia.
Braden Fiske suffered an oblique injury during pre-game warmups in Week 2 and did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Fiske played just 13 snaps against the Titans, while Los Angeles’ pass rush was still dominant without him being fully healthy. If Fiske is unable to play, it would still be a considerable loss for the Rams.
Davante Adams and Rob Havenstein did not participate during Wednesday’s practice. Yet there’s no need for Rams’ fans to be concerned as they were simply rest days for two of the established veterans on the team.
Colby Parkinson suffered a shoulder injury in Week 1 that kept him out of last week’s game. Yet he was able to be a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice and could return this week.
