Eagles-Commanders Week 18 Injury Report: Who Is Playing in Philadelphia?

After winning three consecutive games, the Philadelphia Eagles will likely rest several starters against the Washington Commanders in Week 18. Yet the Eagles will still have to play a few starters due to the restrictions of a 53-man roster and only two practice squad elevations.

While the Eagles could still technically clinch the #2 seed in the NFC with a win and a loss by the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia will reportedly play it safe. Despite the playoff implications of a potential win, there are several starters banged up that could benefit from an additional week of rest in the City of Brotherly Love.

Here is the updated injury report for both the Eagles and the Commanders ahead of Sunday’s matchup.

Eagles Injury Report

Wednesday, December 31st

The Eagles held a walkthrough on New Year’s Eve and their injury report is an estimation.

  • Nakobe Dean, Dallas Goedert, Lane Johnson and Jaelan Phillips were all estimated as did not participate. While Dean and Johnson are no surprises, both Goedert and Phillips were new additions. Phillips suffered an ankle injury in Week 17 but returned to the game against the Buffalo Bills. With the Eagles likely playing it safe in the regular season finale, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see all four of these players in street clothes.

  • Jihaad Campbell was estimated as a limited participant due to back and shoulder injuries. It’s worth noting that Campbell was listed on last week’s injury report with back and ankle injuries. He’s another likely rest candidate for Week 18.

  • Cameron Williams was estimated as a full participant, yet his 21-day practice window will expire on Thursday and he’ll likely revert to season-ending injured reserve.

Thursday, January 1st

  • Surprise! The Eagles added Cameron Williams to the 53-man roster instead of him reverting to season-ending injured reserve like they did with fellow rookie OL Myles Hinton and Willie Lampkin a few weeks ago. Williams was a full participant during Thursday’s practice and is no longer listed on the injury report.

  • Jalen Carter joined Nakobe Dean, Dallas Goedert, Lane Johnson and Jaelan Phillips as players that did not participate during Thursday’s practice. The addition of Carter was a bit unexpected as he was reportedly spotted at practice by reporters and wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s injury report.

  • Jihaad Campbell was a full participant during Thursday’s practice after initially being estimated as a limited participant on Wednesday.

  • Following Thursday’s practice, Marcus Epps reported symptoms of a concussion to Philadelphia’s medical staff. It was confirmed that Epps has a concussion and he has now entered concussion protocol.

Friday, January 2nd

  • The Eagles officially ruled out six players for Week 18: Nakobe Dean, Dallas Goedert, Lane Johnson, Jaelan Phillips, Jalen Carter and Marcus Epps. Phillips had a chance to become just the third player ever to play 18 regular season games in a single season, but that won’t happen now.

  • Jihaad Campbell was a full participant during Friday’s practice and will be good to go on Sunday, although the Eagles could opt to rest him in Week 18.

Commanders Injury Report

Wednesday, December 31st

  • Marcus Mariota and Laremy Tunsil are the big names to watch among the players that did not participate in Wednesday’s practice for the Commanders. With nothing to play for in Week 18, Washington will likely continue to sit both players.

  • Jayden Daniels continues to be a limited participant in practice due to a left elbow injury, yet Washington has already stated that he will not play again this season.

Thursday, January 1st

  • There were two notable additions to Washington’s injury report on Thursday. Treylon Burks did not participate during Thursday’s practice due to an illness. Brandon Coleman, who has been starting at left tackle in place of Laremy Tunsil, was limited during Thursday’s practice due to a knee injury.

  • Rookie RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt was a full participant on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice with an illness.

  • Defensive veterans Bobby Wagner and Von Miller were both full participants during Thursday’s practice after enjoying a rest day on Wednesday.

Friday, January 2nd:

  • The Commanders officially ruled out three players for Week 18: Marcus Mariota, Laremy Tunsil and Jayden Daniels. No surprises as all three players have recently missed time and weren’t expected to play in Washington’s regular season finale.

  • Brandon Coleman, who will likely start in place of Tunsil on Sunday, was a full participant during Friday’s practice. Yet he is still officially listed as questionable for Week 18.
