Eagles-Commanders Injury Report: Who Is Out for Week 8?

The Philadelphia Eagles will visit the Washington Commanders for a divisional showdown at Northwest Stadium in Week 8. Since their regular season opener came to an end, both teams have managed to win just one game each. Therefore, they’ll be battling to stay out of last place in the NFC East this week. Here’s the updated injury report for both the Eagles and the Commanders ahead of Sunday night’s matchup.

Eagles Injury Report

Wednesday, October 28, 2026

The Eagles held a walkthrough on Wednesday so the team’s first injury report for Week 8 is an estimation.

  • Six players were estimated as did not participate for Wednesday’s walkthrough: Saquon Barkley, Jihaad Campbell, Britain Covey, Jonathan Jones, DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks. The only real surprises among those names are Campbell and Jones. Although it’s worth noting that Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio mentioned that Campbell “came up a little lame” against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. Therefore, it wasn’t much of a shock to see him on the injury report.

  • The Eagles estimated six players as limited participants for Wednesday’s walkthrough. The most notable name on the list could be edge rusher Nolan Smith Jr., who missed last week’s game due to a concussion. Given the struggles of Philadelphia’s defensive front, Smith’s return would provide a massive boost for the Eagles. The return of safety Michael Carter II is also noteworthy and it’ll be interesting to see if he’ll still start once he’s ready to play.

  • The biggest positive on Philadelphia’s initial injury report could be the seven players that were estimated as full participants for Wednesday’s walkthrough. Landon Dickerson, Dallas Goedert and Drew Kendall all seem to have escaped last week’s game without aggravating the injuries that forced them to miss time. Maybe the Eagles will finally find some offensive cohesion in consecutive weeks.

Commanders Injury Report

Wednesday, October 28, 2026

  • The Commanders only had three players miss the team’s first practice of the week: John Bates, Stefon Diggs and Javon Kinlaw. While Bates isn’t the team’s top tight end, he’s a key blocker for the offense and plays a considerable role. Diggs was held out for a rest day and will likely be good to go on Sunday night. Kinlaw’s absence is noteworthy, as he has started six games in 2026.

  • Washington listed three players as limited for Wednesday’s practice: Treylon Burks, Charles Omenihu and Jer’Zhan Newton. The latter may be the most meaningful since Newton had his 21-day practice window opened. If he’s able to return, it would help offset the potential absence of Kinlaw.

  • The Commanders had four players listed on the injury report as full participants on Wednesday: Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Fabian Moreau and Colson Yankoff. Obviously, Daniels is the biggest name among those players, yet his status was never in doubt for Week 8.
