Eagles-Buccaneers Week 4 Injury Report: Who Is Playing in Tampa Bay?
Following a miraculous comeback win against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, the Philadelphia Eagles have dealt with a few unexpected blows due to injuries. The Eagles officially announced that Nolan Smith, Jakorian Bennett and Darius Cooper were all placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.
Now they’ll be forced to fly down south to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4 without their top edge defender. Although it’s worth noting that the Buccaneers are also dealing with plenty of injuries, as Tampa Bay could be without several starters on Sunday.
While the Eagles were short-handed in their last matchup with the Buccaneers, we could see Philadelphia have the advantage in the injury category this time around. Here is the updated injury report for both the Eagles and the Buccaneers ahead of Sunday’s game.
Eagles Injury Report
Wednesday, September 24th
Zack Baun was spotted at Wednesday’s practice wearing a brace on his knee by reporters in attendance. He was officially listed as a DNP for Wednesday. Baun did tell reporters that he’s “all good.”
Jihaad Campbell was also listed as a DNP for Wednesday’s practice, as both of Philadelphia’s starting LBs sat out of practice. Campbell reportedly told Jeff Neiburg of The Philadelphia Inquirer that he’s fine.
Adoree’ Jackson was spotted on the field at Wednesday’s practice, but he was officially listed as a DNP. We’ll see if Jackson is able to practice at all ahead of Week 4.
Lane Johnson was a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice after leaving the game in Week 3 due to a stinger. Obviously, Johnson is a huge part of Philadelphia’s offense and it’s great news to see him return to practice.
Tanner McKee continues to be limited as he manages his right thumb injury. Could we finally see McKee return to his duties as QB2 in Week 4? We’ll see.
After missing back-to-back games, Will Shipley was a full participant during Wednesday’s practice. Given the team’s struggles to run the ball and handle kick returns, Shipley could be returning at the perfect time in Week 4.
Thursday, September 25th
Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell and Adoree’ Jackson were all upgraded to limited participants for Thursday’s practice after sitting out of Wednesday’s practice. A positive sign for all three players and their chances to play on Sunday.
Tanner McKee remained a limited participant as he continues to manage the right thumb injury that he suffered ahead of the regular season.
Lane Johnson and Will Shipley were both full participants for Thursday’s practice. Johnson was limited on Wednesday and Shipley should return on Sunday after suffering an oblique injury in Week 1.
Friday, September 26th
Adoree’ Jackson is officially doubtful for Week 4 against the Buccaneers. It looks like Kelee Ringo is in line to start in Tampa Bay with Jackson likely out and Jakorian Bennett placed on injured reserve earlier this week.
Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, Tanner McKee, Lane Johnson and Will Shipley were all full participants for Friday’s practice and are good to go in Week 4.
Buccaneers Injury Report
Wednesday, September 24th
Mike Evans was listed as a DNP for Wednesday’s practice, which isn’t much of a surprise given that he is reportedly expected to miss multiple games due to a hamstring injury.
Logan Hall missed Wednesday’s practice, yet Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Hall’s groin injury is relatively minor and he’s considered day-to-day.
Christian Izien suffered a quad injury in the first half of Week 3 and didn’t return to the game. He was listed as a DNP for Wednesday’s practice and it remains to be seen if he’ll play on Sunday.
Lavonte David, Charlie Heck and Baker Mayfield were all listed as limited participants for Wednesday’s practice. While their injuries are worth monitoring, all three players completed the game in Week 3 with no noticeable issues.
Tristan Wirfs has yet to play this season after suffering a knee injury during training camp. Yet it seems like Week 4 has been Wirfs’ targeted return date all along. He was officially listed as a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice.
Chris Godwin Jr. is in a similar boat as Wirfs. Godwin suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 7 last season. While Godwin could have been placed on IR in 2025, he ultimately wasn’t and appears to be ready to make his return in Week 4. Godwin was officially listed as a full participant for Wednesday’s practice.
Thursday, September 25th
Mike Evans, Logan Hall and Christian Izien were all DNPs for the second straight day. Yet they were surprisingly joined by Chris Godwin Jr., as many assumed that he would make his from an ankle injury in Week 4. Godwin’s absence could just be part of the team’s plan but it’s worth monitoring moving forward.
Charlie Heck and Baker Mayfield were both limited participants for the second consecutive day. Yet it seems like both players will be good to go on Sunday.
Tristan Wirfs and Lavonte David were both upgraded to full participants on Thursday, as the Buccaneers should be getting back their top OL on Sunday.
Friday, September 26th
Mike Evans and Christian Izien were officially ruled out for Week 4.
Chris Godwin Jr., Baker Mayfield, Tristan Wirfs and Logan Hall are all questionable, yet Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles seems to believe that all four players will be able to play on Sunday.
Lavonte David and Charlie Heck don’t have any game status designations and are good to go against the Eagles in Week 4.
