Eagles-Bills Week 17 Injury Report: Who Is Playing in Buffalo?

The Philadelphia Eagles have won back-to-back games in rather dominant fashion. Yet the Eagles will face a tough test in Week 17, as the birds will fly up north to visit the Buffalo Bills. While Philadelphia could welcome back a few key players, the Eagles are still dealing with several injuries.

Meanwhile, Bills star quarterback Josh Allen suffered a foot injury in Buffalo’s last game. While he was eventually cleared to return, it’s still worth watching Allen’s status ahead of a massive matchup between two Super Bowl contenders on Sunday afternoon.

Here is the updated injury report for both the Eagles and the Bills ahead of Sunday’s matchup.

Eagles Injury Report

Wednesday, December 24th

  • Nakobe Dean left Philadelphia’s last game due to a hamstring injury and didn’t practice on Wednesday. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio stated that Dean is “iffy” to play, but that we will see him on the field again this season.

  • Lane Johnson remains out of practice due to a foot injury, although Adam Schefter of ESPN reportedly expects Johnson to return against the Bills in Week 17.

  • Landon Dickerson missed practice due to an illness, although it seems like he will be able to play on Sunday.

  • A.J. Brown missed practice after undergoing a dental procedure. According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Brown told reporters that he was having his wisdom teeth removed this week.

  • Jalen Carter returned to practice as a full participant after missing several games. Carter told reporters that he received shots in both of his shoulders and feels much better, although he admitted that he still won’t feel 100% this season.

Thursday, December 25th

The Eagles didn’t practice on Christmas Day and their injury report was an estimation.

  • Nakobe Dean, Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson and A.J. Brown were estimated as out for the second consecutive day with the same injuries that were previously listed.

  • Jalen Carter, among several others, were estimated as full participants with the same injuries that were previously listed.

Friday, December 26th

  • Both Nakobe Dean and Lane Johnson were officially ruled out for Week 17. Many believed Johnson would return this week but the Eagles are electing to take it slow with his foot injury. Meanwhile, the Eagles are likely being cautious with Dean’s hamstring injury, given his lengthy injury history.

  • Cameron Williams is questionable, although that is likely due to him being on injured reserve. Williams is unlikely to be added to the 53-man roster and will have his 21-day practice window expire.

  • Both Landon Dickerson and A.J. Brown returned to being full participants during Friday’s practice and are good to go against the Bills on Sunday.

Bills Injury Report

Wednesday, December 24th

The Bills held a walkthrough on Christmas Eve.

  • Buffalo listed seven players as did not participate for Wednesday’s practice, including several starters. Both Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, who play huge roles on Buffalo’s offense, were unable to practice. Matt Prater’s absence is also notable given Buffalo’s kicking struggles.

  • Josh Allen was among four players listed as limited for Wednesday’s practice. Allen has been able to play through the foot injury and he’ll likely do so on Sunday.

Thursday, December 25th

The Bills didn’t practice on Christmas Day and their injury report was an estimation.

  • The only change on Buffalo’s injury report for Thursday was veteran edge rusher Joey Bosa being upgraded from did not participate to a limited participant due to a hamstring injury.

Friday, December 26th

  • The Bills officially ruled out four players for Sunday’s game against the Eagles: DaQuan Jones, Jordan Phillips, Jordan Pryor and Matt Prater. Jones is likely the most notable loss, as he has played the second-most snaps among IDL and started 12 in Buffalo this season.

  • Both Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox are officially questionable for Sunday’s game. If either player is unable to play in Buffalo, that would be a significant loss for the Bills offense.

  • Josh Allen was a full participants during Friday’s practice and is good to go against the Eagles in Week 17.
