Connecting the Dots: 25 Free Agents That Have Ties to the Eagles New-Look Coaching Staff
The Philadelphia Eagles have completely revamped their offensive coaching staff following a disappointing performance last season. While Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is sticking around, he has added Sean Mannion, Josh Grizzard, Chris Kuper and Jerrod Johnson into the mix in Philadelphia.
After making multiple coaching changes, the Eagles will look to revamp the team’s offense on the field as well. How might these new hires impact Philadelphia’s potential targets in free agency? Here are 25 free agents that have ties to the Eagles new-look coaching staff.
Sean Mannion
Romeo Doubs, WR: Doubs led the Packers with 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns last season. Mannion spent two seasons with Doubs in Green Bay and now the soon-to-be 26-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent.
Brandin Cooks, WR: Shoutout to Fran Duffy of the ALLCITY Network for pointing out this connection. Mannion and Cooks actually played together at Oregon State and the Eagles could surely use Cooks’ speed at wide receiver.
Jalen Nailor, WR: Nailor worked his way up the Vikings depth chart after being a sixth-round pick in 2022. He hauled in 10 total touchdowns over the last two seasons and played with Mannion in Minnesota. Many might be surprised by the deal that Nailor will land in free agency.
K.J. Osborn, WR: Osborn is another familiar face for Mannion, who actually caught his only career touchdown pass in the NFL. While Osborn spent time on the Falcons practice squad last season, he is familiar with Mannion and could compete for a roster spot in Philadelphia.
Emmanuel Wilson, RB: The Packers surprisingly didn’t tender Wilson, who will now be an unrestricted free agent. While the Eagles don’t necessarily need help at running back, Wilson showed plenty of promise during Mannion’s tenure in Green Bay.
John FitzPatrick, TE: The Eagles are going to revamp their tight end room this offseason and John FitzPatrick carved out a depth role in Green Bay. Unfortunately, FitzPatrick suffered a torn Achilles in Week 16 and will need time to recover. Regardless, Mannion could be interested in a reunion with him in 2026.
Josh Whyle, TE: Following FitzPatrick’s injury, Whyle saw his role increased in Green Bay. Whyle is still just 26 and has intriguing size at 6’7 and 248 lbs. that the Eagles could take a chance on.
Josh Grizzard
Mike Evans, WR: Filler Evans will turn 32-years old in August and obviously his best days are behind him. Yet he remains a starting caliber wide receiver that could help fill the void created by a potential A.J. Brown trade for a season or two. Grizzard spent two seasons in Tampa Bay with Evans.
Sterling Shepard, WR: It seemed like Shepard’s career was coming to an end a few years ago. Yet he played nearly 500 snaps in back-to-back seasons during Grizzard’s tenure in Tampa Bay. He would provide Philadelphia with an experienced depth option at wide receiver.
Rachaad White, RB: If the Eagles are looking to add a pass catching option out of the backfield, White would make sense. He has hauled in 40+ receptions in all four of his seasons in the NFL and had a career-high six receiving touchdowns in Grizzard’s season as the Buccaneers passing game coordinator.
Cade Otton, TE: Otton is a certified TE1 that would help fill Dallas Goedert’s cleats in Philadelphia. Otton offers a complete skillset and saw 80+ targets in both of Grizzard’s seasons in Tampa Bay.
Ko Kieft, TE: The Eagles need to improve their blocking at the tight end position and Kieft would deliver in that department. He could play a hybrid tight end/fullback role and add much-needed toughness to Philadelphia’s tight end room.
Michael Jordan, OL: Jordan started nine games for the Buccaneers last season and would give the Eagles an experienced option at backup guard. He has started 49 games in the NFL since 2019, primarily at left guard, which is notable given Landon Dickerson’s injury history.
Dan Feeney, OL: Feeney started 10 games at right guard for the Buccaneers last season. He has started games at left guard, center and right guard in the NFL. Aside from playing under Grizzard last season, he also played under new Eagles offensive line coach Chris Kuper in 2024.
Chris Kuper
Justin Skule, OL: If Fred Johnson is leaving, Skule could be Philadelphia’s swing tackle next season. While Skule isn’t the best option, he has experience working with both Kuper and Grizzard. He also played under Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco for two seasons, which shows his familiarity with the scheme.
Matt Nelson, OL: Nelson was with the Vikings last season and has started 14 games at right tackle in his NFL career. Nelson ideally wouldn’t make the final 53-man roster and would provide competition during training camp and preseason action.
Lloyd Cushenberry, OL: If the Eagles are concerned at all about Cam Jurgens, Cushenberry has a ton of starting experience at center. He worked with Kuper earlier in his career with the Broncos. He’ll likely land a starting job elsewhere but he’s still a noteworthy name with ties to Kuper.
Jerrod Johnson
Christian Kirk, WR: Kirk has only started 10 games over the last two seasons but he showed flashes with the Texans last season in the playoffs. Kirk led Houston with 10 receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns in their two playoff games and Johnson had a front seat to watch it all.
Braxton Berrios, WR: Berrios was in Houston with Johnson last season and was also with Grizzard in Miami in 2023. While he ideally isn’t more than a backup wide receiver, he can also add value as a returner on special teams.
Dare Ogunbowale, RB: Similar to Berrios, Ogunbowale would ideally be a backup running back down on the depth chart. Yet he has experience with Johnson and would also add value on special teams, as he recorded 10 tackles on special teams last season.
Mike Pellegrino
Tre’Davious White, CB: If the Eagles are looking for another Adoree’ Jackson, White could be their guy. He played over 800+ snaps for the Bills last season and allowed a passer rating of just 75.0 when targeted.
Jonathan Jones, CB: Similar to White, Jones is an experienced veteran cornerback that fits the same mold as Jackson did last season. Jones has a strong relationship with Pellegrino from their extensive time together in New England.
Darnell Savage, S: Savage spent time with three different teams last season. He ended the season with the Bills and started in Week 18. While Savage isn’t the same player that he once was, he would make sense as a relatively cheap dart throw for the Eagles at safety.
Damar Hamlin, S: After playing over 1,000+ snaps on Buffalo’s defense in 2024, Hamlin saw his role reduced to just 12 defensive snaps last season. It could be time for a change of scenery and the Eagles could take a chance on him in 2026.
Jordan Poyer, S: Poyer started his career in Philadelphia before being waived during his rookie season. He has enjoyed a lengthy NFL career as a starting safety, but has yet to win it all. The 34-year-old safety could opt to return to the Eagles in an attempt to make a Super Bowl run while bringing experience to a thin safety room.
