Bird Market: Which Eagles Players Impacted Their Stock During OTAs?
The Philadelphia Eagles have officially wrapped up OTAs as the team will now take a break before returning for training camp in July. Following the three practices that were open to the media, it’s clear that several Eagles players impacted their stock during OTAs.
If you have watched Mad Money hosted by Jim Cramer, you have likely heard him utilize the terms “bear market” or “bull market” when discussing the stock market. Considering that Cramer is a diehard Eagles fan, I figured that it was only right to honor him by titling my Eagles stock report article series, “Bird Market.”
Now it’s time to take a look at which players are on the rise and which players are on the decline following OTAs in the City of Brotherly Love.
Stock Up: Kelee Ringo
The Eagles entered OTAs with a competition at CB2 between Ringo and veteran Adoree’ Jackson. Yet Ringo appeared to separate himself from Jackson during OTAs, which he capped off with an impressive performance during Philadelphia’s only mandatory practice. Ringo reportedly broke up multiple passes on June 10th and was fittingly called a “freak of nature” by Jackson earlier during OTAs.
Stock Up: Tyler Steen
After failing to win the starting job at right guard in each of his first two seasons, Steen is expected to compete for the job once again in 2025. Yet this time it looks like there isn’t much of a competition as Steen dominated the first-team reps at right guard during OTAs. Steen was the only player to take reps at right guard with the starting offense during team drills and it’s clearly his job to lose right now.
Stock Down: Kenyon Green
Green started 23 games in three seasons with the Houston Texans. While many expected Green to compete with Steen for the starting job at right guard, he isn’t quite there just yet. Green was relegated to working with the second-team and third-team offense during OTAs. He reportedly lined up at left guard, which obviously isn’t a great sign for his chances of possibly competing with Steen.
Stock Up: Danny Gray
Gray reportedly turned some heads while working on Philadelphia’s practice squad last season. Now Gray is rocking a different jersey number (#80) and is ready to push for a spot on the 53-man roster. The Eagles could use some help at WR beyond A.J. Green, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson in 2025 and Gray is starting to separate himself from the pack. He consistently made plays and showcased his speed throughout OTAs, according to multiple reports.
Stock Up: Terrace Marshall Jr.
Since being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Marshall has failed to live up to expectations. Yet he could rebuild his value with the Eagles jn 2025, especially after a promising performance with the team during OTAs. As previously mentioned, the Eagles could use depth at WR behind their top three players at the position and Marshall is certainly in the mix to make Philadelphia’s final roster.
Stock Down: Johnny Wilson
Wilson carved out a role during his rookie season with the Eagles as a big bodied, dirty work WR that excelled as a blocker. Yet he failed to showcase much as a pass catcher with his drop issues from college carrying over into the NFL. Wilson missed a few practices during OTAs and has failed to separate himself from the pack when he has been on the practice field in Philadelphia.
Stock Up: Jalyx Hunt
After a quiet start to his rookie season in Philadelphia, Hunt’s role grew as the season progressed and he is now projected to start in 2025. Hunt was the most efficient edge rusher on the Eagles last postseason, as he recorded a pressure rate of 13.8% during Philadelphia’s Super Bowl run. Now Hunt is expected to take on a much bigger role moving forward and he certainly looks ready to do so in year two.
Stock Up: Jordan Davis
The Eagles exercised the fifth-year option on Davis’ rookie contract as Philadelphia expects the 25-year-old to take a step forward in 2025. It’s worth noting that Davis actually led the Eagles with a pressure rate of 13.8% last postseason. Davis continued to show flashes of his progression as a pass rusher during OTAs, as he reportedly beat Jordan Mailata for a “sack” on the final day of practice.
Stock Down: Brett Toth
Toth served as Philadelphia’s top center during OTAs as Cam Jurgens continues to recover from back surgery. Yet Toth has reportedly struggled to consistently snap the football during team drills, which is obviously an important part of playing center. It’s only a matter of time before rookie center Drew Kendall leaps over Toth on the depth chart and becomes Philadelphia’s backup center behind Jurgens.
Stock Up: Andre’ Sam
Prior to the start of OTAs, many expected Sydney Brown and Drew Mukuba to compete for the starting job at safety next to Reed Blankenship. Yet second-year safety Andre’ Sam appears to be involved in the competition as well. After spending his rookie season on Philadelphia’s practice squad, Sam is building a strong case to make the Eagles final roster.
