21 Offensive Coordinator Candidates for the Eagles To Consider in 2026

Following another underwhelming performance, the Philadelphia Eagles have officially moved on from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. The 44-year-old struggled in his first season as a play-caller in the NFL. The same offensive issues that plagued Philadelphia during the regular season ultimately sent them home in the playoffs.

Now it’s time for the Eagles to shift their focus towards Patullo’s replacement. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman will have a massive say in who gets the job. They hit a home run with Kellen Moore and they will hope to do so again this offseason.

For the sake of this exercise, I have divided the potential candidates for Philadelphia’s vacancy at offensive coordinator into three groups:

  • Proven Play-Callers: Unlike Patullo, each of these coaches have recently called plays and have at least one full season of doing so in the NFL. Their experience would likely provide a foundation that Patullo couldn’t build.

  • Inexperienced Gambles: Similar to Patullo, each of these coaches are first time play-callers or haven’t called plays for a full season. Yet they provide upside along with uncertainty.

  • Stable Veterans: Unlike Patullo, each of these coaches have a ton of experience calling plays in the NFL. Yet given their age, they likely wouldn’t be poached by another team in search of a head coach in the future, similar to Victor Fangio.

Here are 21 offensive coordinator candidates for the Eagles to consider in 2026.

Proven Play-Callers

Kliff Kingsbury

Title: Former Commanders Offensive Coordinator

The Eagles are familiar with Kliff Kingsbury, as they interviewed him for their offensive coordinator vacancy in 2024 before hiring Kellen Moore. He also led Washington’s offense over the last two seasons, which averaged 23.8 points per game against the Eagles during that time.

There were rumors that the Eagles wanted to hire Kingsbury in 2024 but he wanted to make changes to the offensive coaching staff in Philadelphia. After parting with the Commanders, Kingsbury could be more open to coaching one of the most talented offenses in the NFL.

Mike McDaniel

Title: Former Dolphins Head Coach

Mike McDaniel is regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the NFL. He would bring an established and unique scheme to Philadelphia. McDaniel showed that he could maximize the talent of his players in Miami, yet it didn’t always equate to wins.

McDaniel is already an hot commodity, as he has scheduled multiple head coaching and offensive coordinator interviews. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio worked under McDaniel for a season and I’m not sure if their relationship would help or hurt his chances of landing in Philadelphia.

Brian Daboll

Title: Former Giants Head Coach

Brian Daboll is no stranger to the Eagles, as he was the head coach of the Giants for four seasons. While Philadelphia mostly dominated the Giants during Daboll’s tenure, his team embarrassed the Eagles in Week 6 of 2025.

Now Daboll is available and has worked with Jalen Hurts before as Alabama’s offensive coordinator in 2017. He is also credited by many for the development of Josh Allen. Daboll would bring a ton of experience to Philadelphia as an offensive coordinator.

Todd Monken

Title: Former Ravens Offensive Coordinator

Following the unceremonious firing of John Harbaugh, many believed that he would be a packaged deal with Todd Monken at his next stop. Yet Monken is reportedly interviewing with the Buccaneers for their offensive coordinator vacancy and should also rank high on Philadelphia’s list.

Monken was able to help Lamar Jackson win MVP in 2023 and be named a First-Team All-Pro in back-to-back seasons (2023, 2024). It would be fun to see what Monken could do to maximize Hurts’ skillset, along with Philadelphia’s talented offensive playmakers.

Kevin Stefanski

Title: Former Browns Head Coach

While the Browns weren’t known for their offense during Kevin Stefanski’s tenure, he is a former two-time NFL Coach of the Year. The Eagles and Nick Sirianni are also familiar with Stefanski, as they held multiple joint practices together and established a strong relationship. It doesn’t hurt that Stefanski is also from the City of Brotherly Love and attended St. Joe’s Prep and Penn.

Mike LaFleur

Title: Rams Offensive Coordinator

Mike LaFleur is the younger brother of Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and called plays as the offensive coordinator of the Jets for two seasons. While LaFleur is currently the Rams offensive coordinator, he doesn’t call plays and would technically be available for a promotion to do so in Philadelphia.

He has plenty of experience working under some of the NFL’s best play-callers, such as Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan. LaFleur’s blend of experience and upside could make him an intriguing target for the Eagles.

Zac Robinson

Title: Former Falcons Offensive Coordinator

Zac Robinson is another branch on Sean McVay’s coaching tree, as he spent five seasons in Los Angeles before landing the offensive coordinator job in Atlanta. He has extensive experience at quarterback, given his time as a player at both Oklahoma State and with multiple teams in the NFL.

Now Robinson has carried his experience as a player to the coaching side of the game. After holding multiple titles in Los Angeles, Robinson was able to maximize Atlanta’s offensive talent in 2025, as three players were named All-Pro following the regular season.

Mike Kafka

Title: Former Giants Interim Head Coach

Similar to Robinson, Mike Kafka has extensive experience at the quarterback position. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Eagles, where he spent two seasons before bouncing around the league. After his playing days were over, Kafka joined Andy Reid’s coaching staff in Kansas City.

Kafka worked his way up the ranks with the Chiefs, eventually landing a bigger role under Daboll in New York. The 38-year-old eventually served as the Giants interim head coach and helped maximize the limited offensive talent in New York. It would be fun to see him land back where it all started and help fix Philadelphia’s offense.

Inexperienced Gambles

Nathan Scheelhaase

Title: Rams Pass Game Coordinator

Nathan Scheelhaase is one of the rising stars in the NFL’s coaching ranks and many teams have already scheduled interviews with him in 2026. Yet the Eagles were early to the party with their interest in Scheelhaase, as they actually interviewed him for their offensive coordinator opening back in 2023.

At the time, Scheelhaase was the offensive coordinator at Iowa State under head coach Matt Campbell, who is a close friend of Sirianni. Since then, Scheelhaase has spent two seasons with the Rams working under McVay. While Scheelhaase hasn’t called plays in the NFL, the Eagles could take a gamble on one of the game’s hottest young coaches.

Grant Udinski

Title: Jaguars Offensive Coordinator

Grant Udinski is as essentially Scheelhaase before Scheelhaase. Udinski is a 30-year-old, Pennsylvania native that has rocketed up the coaching ranks in the NFL. He started as a coaching assistant with the Panthers in 2020 and is currently the Jaguars offensive coordinator.

Yet Udinski doesn’t call plays in Jacksonville and would technically be available for a promotion as Philadelphia’s play-caller. Udinski has been credited with Sam Darnold’s revival with the Vikings and why the quarterback play in Minnesota fell off a cliff following his departure last offseason. He is regarded as a future head coach and could view the opportunity in Philadelphia as a way to accelerate his growth.

Thomas Brown

Title: Patriots Passing Game Coordinator & Tight Ends Coach

After rushing for over 2,600 yards during his time at Georgia, Thomas Brown played for two different teams in the NFL. Following his playing career, Brown has worked his way up through the coaching ranks since 2011. Brown handled play-calling during parts of the season for two seperate teams, yet he hasn’t called plays for a full season yet.

After leaving the Bears, Brown landed a notable role on Mike Vrabel’s staff in New England. As the Patriots passing game coordinator, Brown has helped power Drake Maye towards an MVP-caliber performance. Brown is deserving of the chance to call his own offense and that could happen in Philadelphia.

Tommy Rees

Title: Former Browns Offensive Coordinator

The former Notre Dame quarterback started coaching in 2015 and actually spent time working with Sirianni as an offensive assistant for the Chargers in 2016. Fast forward to 2026 and Rees was most recently the Browns offensive coordinator. Although Rees was handed play-calling duties in November of 2025 and didn’t call plays for an entire season.

Rees’ experience as a college offensive coordinator at Notre Damn and Alabama, along with his experience in the NFL could make him an intriguing option for the Eagles. Especially given his existing relationship with Sirianni, which is an important factor as well.

Declan Doyle

Title: Bears Offensive Coordinator

After spending three seasons as a student assistant at Iowa, Declan Doyle got his shot in the NFL as an offensive assistant under Sean Payton with the Saints in 2019. After spending multiple seasons in New Orleans, Doyle joined Payton as the Broncos tight ends coach. Doyle was then poached by Bears head coach Ben Johnson, as he became the NFL’s youngest offensive coordinator.

Doyle was just 28-years old when he was hired by Johnson, yet he doesn’t handle play-calling duties in Chicago. While Doyle’s lack of experience could discourage many, he has worked under some of the NFL’s best offensive minds. If the Eagles are willing to take a risk, Doyle could be an ideal target.

Jerrod Johnson

Title: Texans Quarterbacks Coach

Similar to Kingsbury, the Eagles interviewed Jerrod Johnson for their offensive coordinator vacancy in 2024. The Eagles actually gave Johnson his first chance in the NFL as a player, when he spent time with Philadelphia in 2011. After transitioning to coaching in 2017, Johnson has risen up the ranks and is currently the Texans quarterback coach.

Johnson also spent time working alongside several current Eagles coaches, including Sirianni, during his time with the Colts coaching staff. While Johnson hasn’t called plays, his extensive experience both playing and coaching the quarterback position could make him an intriguing candidate.

Klay Kubiak

Title: 49ers Offensive Coordinator

Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is one of the hottest head coaching candidates in the NFL right now. Yet his younger brother, Klay Kubiak, has hardly received any buzz. The 37-year-old is currently the 49ers offensive coordinator and doesn’t call plays under Kyle Shanahan.

Kubiak got his start in San Francisco as a defensive quality control coach in 2021. He has quickly risen up the ranks with the 49ers and the Eagles could view him as their way of mimicking the offensive scheme that Shanahan has abused them with. Especially after getting embarrassed by San Francisco in the Wild Card Round.

Davis Webb

Title: Broncos Offensive Pass Game Coordinator & Quarterbacks Coach

Despite only coaching in the NFL for just three seasons, Davis Webb is already viewed as a rising star. Both the Ravens and Raiders have requested to interview Webb for their head coaching vacancies. While it’s unlikely that Webb will land a head coaching job this offseason, his next step could be becoming an offensive coordinator.

Webb has spent three seasons under Sean Payton after playing in the NFL for five seasons. The former third-round pick reportedly played a key role as a mentor to Daniel Jones during his impressive season in 2022. Now Webb has been instrumental in the success of Bo Nix in Denver. He could help maximize Hurts’ abilities in Philadelphia.

Stable Veterans

Frank Reich

Title: Stanford Senior Advisor

Frank Reich is another similar face in the City of Brotherly Love. He spent two seasons as the Eagles offensive coordinator before landing the head coaching job in Indianapolis. Reich has worked for multiple teams with Sirianni and they have a strong relationship.

After serving as Stanford’s interim head coach last year, Reich could look to coach in the NFL once again. If he opts to do so, he would offer the Eagles a Vic Fangio-esque coordinator that they likely wouldn’t have to worry about departing for a head coaching gig in the NFL.

Mike McCarthy

Title: Former Cowboys Head Coach

Similar to Pederson, Mike McCarthy is a former head coach that sat out last season. Now McCarthy could be looking to return to coaching in the NFL and might view the Eagles as a perfect landing spot to work with one of the most talented offenses in the league.

McCarthy obviously coached against the Eagles for several years and is familiar with their personnel. While he hasn’t been an offensive coordinator since 2005, it could be an ideal role with less on his plate than he had to deal with as a head coach over the last two decades.

Darrell Bevell

Title: Former Dolphins Quarterbacks Coach & Passing Game Coordinator

Despite never holding a full-time head coaching gig, Darrell Bevell has carved out a long, successful career in the NFL. Bevell got his start in the NFL as an assistant quarterbacks coach for the Packers in 2000. He has worked with several notable quarterbacks throughout his coaching tenure, including Brett Favre, Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford.

Over the last four seasons, Bevell worked under Mike McDaniel as the Dolphins quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. His experience with McDaniel exposed him to a unique offensive scheme that he would likely incorporate if given the chance to become an offensive coordinator again.

Greg Roman

Title: Former Chargers Offensive Coordinator

Greg Roman is the latest experienced coach to join the open market after he was fired by the Chargers. While Roman likely won’t be a top candidate for the job, he has a ton of experience and did his best despite a horrendous offensive line situation in Los Angeles.

If nothing else, Roman can design a successful running game. Given Philadelphia’s struggles in that category this past season, Roman would provide a reasonable floor in that area. Yet it might not be enough for him to actually land the offensive coordinator job with the Eagles.

Mike McCoy

Title: Former Titans Interim Head Coach

Similar to Reich, Mike McCoy is regarded as one of Sirianni’s mentors. The two worked together for four seasons when McCoy was the head coach of the Chargers. Now there’s a chance that they could reunite and work again a decade later in Philadelphia.

After serving as Jacksonville’s quarterbacks coach under Doug Pederson, McCoy joined the Titans as a senior offensive assistant. He was eventually promoted to interim head coach midseason in Tennessee. Now with the Titans likely moving in a different direction, McCoy could bring much-needed experience to Sirianni’s coaching staff.
